MaTTSuN
im replacing the brake hoses on my 280z and the front ones are $10 a peice and the back ones are $30 but they look the same... the only thing is the back ones are about an inch longer. can i put the front ones on the back and save a few bucks or is there a reason for the price diff? MaTTSuN
no thoughts ?? the lines look the same hmmm
JMortensen
They should be just what you said, and as long as the extra length doesn't cause the hose to get wrapped up in the halfshafts or something stupid like that I'd think it would be fine. MaTTSuN
thats what i was thinking, i dont see why it would be $20 more per hose. thanks for chiming in. the only reason im doing stock lines is because russels lines we back ordered or some garbage. i waited a month and a half just to start my brakes... grrr
2126
You are likely to be OK but, there is a design reason for why the rears are longer than the fronts. To be on the safe side, do some regular inspections, once installed and in use, to insure that the shorter lines are not starting to fail due to being too short! You would likely begin to see the hose failing next to the hard fitting they are swaged into. Tom
