I am getting ready to do a 5.0 swap into my 76 280z and had a question to ask the forum. Is there one particular year 5.0 that is a better choice for the swap than another. I have a lead on a 86, 5speed, complete mustang and was curious if there was anthing inherintly bad about this year?

Don't get an 86 model. If you want EFI, get 87 and up. The 87 & 88 came with the speed density system and 89 & uphad the mass air setup. There is something about the pistons in the 86 model. If you change heads, the valves hit the pistons. The heads also have a different chamber.

From my 'limited' experiance with the SBF. I found that if you are planning on making 'highish' power (350-400hp (flywhhel) ) it's ALOT cheaper to go carby. I bought an EFI windsor and im converting it to a carby strait lpg/propane setup because of this.
