260DET
Seem to recall something about the single turbo having lower lift cams than the TT. Any ideas anyone?
Guest ZFury
If you are wondering if you can swap TT cams and T cams. No. TT's have DOHC, while single T are SOHC. Cam configureation is different plus the TT has more valves. Just completely different heads. Hheheh', just noticed how old this post was... and I was the first to reply!? RedBeauty84ZX
^^^ Your getting the VG30DET and VG30ET confused. In Japan and Austraila they had the VG30DET in some models, it was based off the VG30DETT.
260DET
Found a figure for the TT cam lift, just have to measure a DET cam now and compare
RedBeauty84ZX
Does any one know if the VG30DET or VG30DE(used in the 300ZR not in Z32) have VVT?
260DET
Very much doubt it, basically the early VG30DET's did not, the later ones did. Don't ask me to define early and late.

Do you have any sources? I have heard that the 300ZR using the VG30DE used NVCS(VVT) in 1986.
260DET
Only sources are the use of the VG30DET in JDM cars other than the 300ZR, which is a choice car BTW.
Guest ZFetsh
I know for a fact that the VG30DET (from a Y32 Cedric) has variable valve timing - theres one sitting in my garage atm! The plugs are different however, and I have no technical information on the cams
Beck
Most of the cams are identical from one motor to the other(same exact part numbers). The timing varies between some of the cams, but lift is unchanged. I have the list of cams somewhere. Let me know what you want to know specifically. 260DET
Looking through the Z32 workshop manual I noticed that the autos had slightly different cams. Seeing mine is a JDM auto engine......
Zdaddy
VVT was a key feature of the VG30DE/DET/DETT. The only ones to not get the VVT were those made from 1996 and up. That means the Z32 during those years lost VVT and the Z32TT lost 20BHP as a result.
