Guest montanaZ
I am in need of some front end suspension photos. I am in the process of installing new bushings, ball joints, tie rods and struts on my 1973 240Z FRONT suspension. When I removed the transverse link off of both sides and put in the new bushings and ball joints, I forgot which side was which and what angle. I need photos!! My book doesn't show that much detail. blueovalz
I cannot remember whether the long end of the bushing faced forward or rearward, but with the new bushings installed, it won't be hard to figure out which side is which because the bushings will not give enough to allow the wrong arm to be bolted up to both the crossmember, and the Tension/Compression rod, at the same time. Cobra_Tim
Easy way to do it is to line up the swaybar and the lower control arm...if you have the LCA on the wrong side, the swaybar hole wont line up with its "mate" on the LCA. JMortensen
The short bushing goes forward.
Guest montanaZ
First of all I would like to thank all of you that responded to my post. I ended up finding someone here in Kalispell MT that has a 240Z and I looked underneath his Z and found the correct direction. The short bushing on the transverse link does indeed face to the front.
