boostin280zx
I have a '82 280zxt f54 block, I also have the 9mm l24 rods. I was wondering what crank you have to use when you get the arizona z car pistons. ---The stock p30 crank out of the turbo block, or the LD28 crank out of the maxima? mario_82_ZXT
I believe the AZZcar pistons are for use with the stock crank and l24 rods for a better rod to stroke ratio. I would email Dave or call him to be 100% sure. Mario
boostin280zx
I'm just going to call dave . The reason i asked was i have been talking to 73Turbo240z which had the same short block built. He said all i need is the f54, l24 lods, and the l28 crank. I didn't know if he mighta said LD28.

slownrusty
With those forged flat top pistons from AZC and the 240Z rods incl. either a L28 or LD28 block, what is the final compression out of curiosity. Also who is the manufacturer of those pistons? Yasin
Russ
I've got some of those pistons. You can see pics at http://www.zclub.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=4374&cat=500&ppuser=1&sl=r if you're interested in what you get. Anyway just putting it into LENGINE, I used L28 block, L24 rods, E88 head, FELPRO gasket, 1mm overbore, L28 crank, L28 flat top pistons (but changed the pin height to 35.7mm) and it gives me 10.5:1. Wouldn't bet my life on me doing it right though I intend to deck the block and skim the head a bit anyway, enough to take me up to 11:1 comp. Then one day I'll put my L24 crank in it, straight back to 8:25:1 and turbo time (I guess that compression is ok for a turbo, I know nothing).
