350ci TBI and tuneport

getting ready to pull my 260z motor & 5 speed trany out of my 83 280zx

and put in a 350 chevy, trottle body motor and 200r4 four speed auto OD trany

then buying a tune port from my friend for $ 250, complete system.

I want to the see differance in performance in the quater mile

The tuned port injection / TPI setups are designed for low end torque, and aftermarket runners aren't exactly cheap. http://www.thirdgen.org/ is a Camaro / Firebird site with some pretty good info on how to get more out of a TPI setup.

I think the LT1 efi is the hot setup for high r's. Unless your going forced induction.

Before you spend the two and a half bucks on a questionable upgrade, you might want to consider looking into upgrades to the LO5 motor. There's a lot of info right there on your local copy of the internets.

Hey Doc, I know this is the Chebby side of the house, but I'm pretty impressed with my Ford/Chevy hybrid Mass Air Flow EFI setup. After tuning, I run very consistent low 6.70's in the eighth mile and I spin that thing up to 6500/6800 rpm. That's on 93 octane and 10:1 compression and 4.11 gears. Installed some 4.86's last weekend and I will be back in town to try them out on Sunday if the weather holds.
