Mayolives
Search has not provided any information. Could it be that this has not been discussed? I'm swapping transmissions and would like to clean and flush the transmission before installing it. I thought about using diesel fuel. Any opinions about what would work best, which procedure to use or how long to let the agent inside the transmission?
JMortensen
What kind of transmission? Obvious choice would be ATF I think. It has a ton of detergents. I run it 50/50 mix with SWEPCO 201 in my ZX 5 speed, some manuals require straight ATF as their regular oil.
Mayolives
It's a Nissan competition 5 speed. I'm really excited about having it and can't wait to give it a try.
Mayolives
Not to hijack my own thread, but any thoughts about which gear oil should be used in the comp. box ?
JMortensen
You should definitely run SWEPCO 201 in the comp tranny. All the Porsche 911 guys with the steel synchros run it. I wouldn't put in too much ATF either, maybe 8 oz or so. Too much will thin it out, don't think you want that with the steel synchros...
