Chewievette
I need to mount a MAP sensor on an intake I'm building and I need to know if I can mount it to the balance tube, this location is the most convenient for the application. Does the sensor need to be in flowing air, like on a runner or would the balance tube be alright? Thanks.
vashonz
MAP measures presssure, every application I've seen mounts the map either inside the ECU or on the fender or firewall. Where you get the signal from needs to be after the throttle, or if using ITBs preferably on the balance tube. The SDS website (http://www.sdsefi.com) has some really good tech articles. Their installation manual (http://www.sdsefi.com/em4main14.pdf) talks about mounting a MAP sensor on page 10.
Mayolives
I'm using Spoork's custom (Lonewolf) intake with an Electromotive Tech 3R ignition set up. We installed the map sensor in the rear of the intake body and it works as it should.
