Got 'er back together

Recommended Posts

Made some changes to the hotrod...I believe the intake was restricting air flow (when I replaced the 1050 carb with the FI, the system came with a standard Victor Jr) I had the World products intake modified with some bungs and put the system back together with a little coo-coo juice for those steep on-ramps. I set a goal to drive it to the track, break into the fives, (1/8th mile track) and drive it home. I'm doing this on a 10:1 motor running 93 octane pump gas. I drove the car today and sure feels like it breathes easier. If the weather holds, I will test it out this Sunday...wish me luck.

Thanks for the prop, z-ya...I appreciate...Hate to admit this in public, but it is an EECIV system same as a 88-93 Mustang. Running a modified corvette MAF that sits under the air cleaner with a signal conditioner box between it and the EEC so it can read the signal. Works very well...best time with the old manifold was 6.70 in the 1/8th on street drag radials.

The fabricated valve covers look great as does the converted manifold. I have toyed with the idea of converting a Victor Jr over to FI, but to find someone who will do it for cheap isn't easy (or realistic?) at all. You just need some boost and you'll have it all: V8, FI, Turbo, massive cubes, power, looks, money, fame, booyeah! Um, anyhow, if you can get some vids together, I'd love to see it in action :D

DavyZ, you are a sick man!!! :o) Don't have a video camera at the moment, but will try to see what I can do. In regards, to the Victor Jr, I just happen to have one already converted :o), i.e., the one I just replaced. PM me and see if we can make a deal....

Boost, V8, small cubes....the MGM (Mean Green Machine) is in the process of being tuned as we speak...284 Toyota V8 w/ forged crank, 4 bolt mains, SBC forged rods, Ross custom forged pistions, supercharged, turbocharged, nitroused, and alcohol injected. I've had it up to 20 lbs of boost so far, but am still in the process of setting fuel and timing maps. Indications are she will be a beast in lamb's clothing. :o)
