GOTHALOSISM
I bought a new z and these rims came with it. They are 4x100 15's chrome and made by rota. they won't fit my car right. The previous owner had them on his 510. can any one help me identify these rims?
bjhines
They have to be 4x4.5" bolt pattern to fit on a Z... They need to be set up with Z car specific(lugcentric) spacers to arrive at ZERO offset... You are not likely to get anything wider than a 225 between the strut and the wheelwell... The Z car uses LUG-CENTRIC mounting... that means that the lugs are the only things centering the wheels on the hubs... that means the spacers must be CAREFULLY CHOSEN to avoid failure of the lug studs... DO NOT USE AUTO PARTS STORE SLOTTED SPACERS... and obviously you cannot stack spacers to get the right thickness....
GOTHALOSISM
yeah thats why i'm getting rid of them i just don't want to miss label them when i sell them to the 240sx crowd.
texis30O
see if there is a stamp on the inner hoop of the wheel. That can tell you what foundry it came from and possibly if there is a sticker showing what the offset is
piston
they wont work for the 510 or for 240sx crowed. the rims looks like some kinda of cheapo eagle rims. im kinda lost here though, you said made by rota and then you ask you need help to id the rims? if you are asking for discription, lets just say, chrome star rims made by rota. i cant think of a datsun that came with 4x100...anyone??? GOTHALOSISM
THEY CAME OFF OF A 510 BUT HE TOSSED THEM IN THE BACK OF THE CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THEY ARE ROTAS JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT ONES. THEY ARE A -12 OFFSET WITH A 4x100
vashonz
If they came off a 510 the bolt pattern is 4x100, unless he used an adapter. 240sx, 240z, 510 all use the same (4x114.3) bolt pattern. Rotas are generally considered to be cheap, heavy, weak, and unreliable. To the point where there are t-shirts saying "Friends don't let friends roll on Rotas" I doubt you will get much interest from anyone with a 240sx when you try to sell them. veritech-z
Post a picture of the back so we can see what you're dealing with.
Savage42
Oh, they'll work on a 510, but you do need to run adapters. These actually have the right bolt pattern but did require 3/4" adapters. My friend ran these for a few years on his VG powered 510.
GOTHALOSISM
they are rota antares, they were discontinued 10 years ago. so i have no idea what the offset is. Can't seem to find the specs for them anywhere.
