z or bust
Anyone heard of using a 90mm throttle body on an L28? They sell conversions for the 240SX so the throttle spacer would work.

z or bust
Will it work with a stock turbo manifold?
naviathan
Sure if you can make the boot from the AFM to the throttlebody fit. Still won't do much as you're bottle necking at the AFM and the plenum inlet. Someone tested it on here and said there was no HP increase, just a quicker throttle response. z or bust
Well thats always a plus. Yeah tryin to make that little boot will be fun
naviathan
It won't make any difference really until you start modding other things. 90mm is huge, but I'm sure you can find a way to utilize 60% of its capability after you port your intake as far as it can go, port the head as much as possible, convert to MSnS to get rid of the AFM and throw a turbo on it. z or bust
Hey thanks man. Yeah why? Is it that simple?
naviathan
Hehe, sorry, didn't mean to be insulting. But yeah it's pretty simple. The wiring harness they sell is all labeled and ready to go.
z or bust
Oh really. Well that works out. As long as everything is labeled I can cut and splice. Does this replace the stock ECU?
naviathan
Yes, it is a fully functional aftermarket engine management. Make sure read all the FAQs and ask if you have any questions. There's an entire subforum for MSnS on here so just about anything you can have a question about has probably been answered there already. Guest 280ZForce
I don't recommend the q45 tb on the stock manifold...why? because the stock plenum is smaller than the size of the ID of the throttle body. Also, to port the stock flange to around 90mm, well there wouldnt be any flange left either cuz 90mm is also bigger than that pretty much. Yeah, you can cut and weld on a bigger flange, but your still gonna have a 90mm ID throttle body on probably around a 65mm ID plenum. naviathan
Yeah I went over that already. That big of a throttlebody is pointless as it's running into a bottleneck at the plenum, but regardless he wants to do it.
