SSflyer
Is it normal for new coilover springs to keep settling. I mounted mine per the instructions (on the rear) and set them to a good ride height, and reset them again last week, but now the car has settled back to almost the same height as before. I'm wondering if I should move the sleeve up some. The adjusting screw is about 3/4" from the top of the sleeve and I still need to gain a little more clearance. If so, does anyone have an extra pair of mounting rings they'd like to sell? (The coilover kit came from Modern Motorsports and has 10" springs). aziza z
did you ever find out why it was doing that?
johnc
Is the adjustable lower spring perch loosening (turning down)? It should have a set screw that you snug down to keep it from turning.
evildky
you could always run 12" springs
SSflyer
Never did figure this out, so instead I moved the perch rings up an inch, so the sleeve is right to the top of the strut tube, and started adjusting again. I seem to have found the spot where the body lifts, but it takes some muscle on the spanner to turn the adjusting ring. Now there's no more rubbing and the ride is still ok, bit it took 4 or 5 adjustments to get it to where it is.
srgunz
You should definately send a photo to MM of the spring gap remaining with the car sitting on the ground after a drive. To me the springs are very suspect. If they bind on compression, well, thats not good at all.
