rich280zxt
Anyone running 3" intercooler piping from a Dual side intercooler in their Z? Please post pictures =]]
Guest 280ZForce
I do, I do lol.... well I run a 3" charge pipe and a 2.5" hot pipe. Hard to see exactly in this pic cuz I had the pipes black and they are not long at all. But I run both on a one-sided intercooler through the core support. My pipes are now a candy apple red and black chrome, I will get them tomorrow from my powder coater so I don't have any pics yet. My project in the engine bay is still under construction, but you get the point. Better view of my piping...
rich280zxt
Jesus, that is the sexiest engine I have ever seen. haha Okay but here is the problem, I have an '83 280zxt, there is less room for piping... my i/c is like 30 and a 1/2 inches long and 3" thick. To get the i/c to sit down far enough for hood clearance I'm going to have to shave about 1/2 an inch off the bumper shock, and even then with 3" piping I'm doubting its going to fit.. I dont have the i/c at my house or I would take pictures but I'll post them as soon as I get it. Do you think it'll fit. Its a GodSpeed i/c I got off ebay
jgkurz
Not quite as sexy but I run 2.5 from the turbo to the IC and 3" from the IC to the throttlebody. Pics are in my signature.

I'd definitely go with something like about 1/2 that size in length, maybe 15"-22" long. Mine is pretty big as well, but yours is another 5" longer than mine and you won't have any room to put your pipes, you probably couldn't even fit that ic in there. rich280zxt
well it fits down inside, just there isnt room for piping, I could just mount it for looks, lol. Where can I find a dual side i/c that size, other than the treadstone one like yours, idk why I just dont like the style of that, the way it tapers to one end

I highly recommend the treadstone after doing intercooler research myself. You can find them for good prices on ebay.

How much money do you have invested in that engine? Since I'm stalling on the i/c I was researching bigger injectors and new fuel rail from pallnet, I want to use 550 cc injectors
