Hey guys, I have been visiting this site for a long time now, and now I have the perfect swap (I think). I've got a striped 240z in my yard with the the usaul rusted floors and frame rails, just waiting for me to do something with (it's only sat for about 5 years). Any way two weeks ago I wrote off my mustang (see pic) I was figuring I would do a swap with the motor and trany (only 22,000km) can anyone tell me if I might have some different problems from the usual 302 swaps. With the rusted floors and frame rails I figure I am totaly open to modification.

Thanks,

The '05 4.6 is a 3V SOHC, not a 4v DOHC, so it won't be as wide. I've seen the 4v swap and it still makes me cringe - that's TOO tight for me. I'm not sure how the motor mounts and brackets are on the '05+ 4.6, so that's another thing I'd look at.

Dude, what are all those little dots all over the car? Ive seen those before on other wrecked cars.

The dots are from the chain link fence I went thru.

As for what happened, the only thing I remember is crawling out of the ditch, that and about 4-5 hours prior.

Thanks for the imput, still not settled with the insurance company, but as soon as that happens out comes the pry bar to save the motor and tranny, I will start with measuring for clearances.

thanks again,

that swap should fit . the 3v is hardly wider than the 2v. i have a freind that put a vortech sc with intercooler bolt on no other mods made 435hp at rear wheels. the nice thing about modular engines is no front sump problems also short fron to back[but they are wide].
