i'm mounting my hx35 to my z...i'm startin on the DP and it runs awful close to the steering coupler...like 3/8" away from coupler...it never comes in contact but i'm wondering if heat would be an issue with the poly steering coupler i have.

You could always get rid of the poly and just use a piece of aluminum.

My MSA piece is made out of a solid plastic that doens't look too heat sensitive.

One Canadian member even used a hockey puck as a coupler. Pretty cool, eh?

I have seen guys who completely eliminated the coupler and bolted the two shafts directly to each other.

you'll be fine, just get your dp ceramic coated or use the heat wrap.

I'm close to the block/transmission, steering rod and coupler...I crammed a 4" mandrel pipe down through mine...

this was during mock up... it's now been ceramic coated, just waiting to get it back.
