Omar
Whats up all? i am new to the board. I used to have a 78 RHD and then i sold for an S13. put an sr in it, drifted it and sold to b/c i saw this car. and i had to have it. I never though i would sell my S13 but i have a thing for Z's and i figured i would get one when i have some more serious money but god i love these cars. Its a 73' with and 83 l28et and a 78 tranny 3.7 diff (R200) Stage 2 centerforce clutch and lighten flywheel AZ car for a while. Thats what the guy told me. Is this a decent setup and what do u think its worth, assuming the frame rails are good and little bit rust is little on the body.
Vintage
Assuming rails, floors, and battery box are in good shape, I would personally estimate it to around 3500-4000. But S30s may be fetching higher prices in Chicago.
Omar
ya he wants 5500 idk i thought it was worth it.
Guest 280ZForce
honestly i dont think 5500 is that bad of a price... i'd try to knock it down around 5ish or a lil under if you can. the car appears to be in good shape for exterior and interior, decent engine setup, got a good trans and clutch setup. If the car is mechanically sound and the rest of it checks out ok, I'd say go for it. is the 3.7 diff in there the clsd version?

Omar
is it just bolt on or do i need axels. do i change the intire pumpkin or just the inernals. anyways. most likely im gonna buy it. the guy wont budge on the price but w/e i need that car. Guest 280ZForce
it's a swap in unit since he already has the r200 in there now, you can throw the whole pumpkin in there or swap out the internals either way since it's a 3.7 already too. the axles can stay the same or you can upgrade to CVs if you want, but you'll need to get the adapters to do CVs. EvilC
stay away from the vlsd...blah! Why do you say that? Just wondering.....
Forrest
Tear up the carpets and get underneath it, and use a magnet to check for bondo. Did you do a compression test? If the body is nearly perfect and the engine is in good shape, it'd be worth 5500 to me, but I'd go over it with a finetooth comb before spending that much. Yes, the 87-89 300zxt diff swap is bolt on with stock halfshafts if the R200 conversion is already done.
Omar
he welded the floor boards. as long as the frame rails and body are good. all i can think of is just check compression. im not sure what the ompression should be but as long as they are all close i think im good. im going on thursday so any other advice is good. Administrators BRAAP Posted August 16, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 16, 2007 Why do you say that? Just wondering..... If you are discerning track enthusiast, you will quickly find that the Viscous LSD is realtivly "loose" and “very†inconsistent. Serious discerning drivers that like to drive their cars at 10-tenths on the track prefer “consistencyâ€, and depending on chassis setup, available traction etc, a certain amount of break away torque, which the V-LSD does NOT offer. The Viscous LSD’s are great for John Q Public who will never take his car beyond 6 tenths on back road jaunts and they are also excellent for cars that serve duty at the drag strip. For the hard core corner carvers among us, either clutch pack LSD or a Torque sensing gear arrangement like the Quaife is the preferred choice. For more info, read Jon Mortensens diff sticky. Lots of fantastic info there..
