Challenger Posted September 24, 2007 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Just look at the way it's on, it's not that hard to take off in most cases, i'd assume (unless someone replaced and glued them on) Or welded. Absolutely correct. Some people go so far as to use some welding stick under the cut out to provide more support/stiffness when welding the panels together, but I firmly believe that if one were to remove the rails, one should have at least a roll bar installed. Not a big fan of cages on the street...but then I sit tall and I'd be rapping my head on one every time I took a curve or turn a little too fast.... gearheadstik Posted September 25, 2007 Share Posted September 25, 2007 If you can't get the rails off by hand, try a can opener with the wide flat side, put masking tape around that end so not to scratch and do a small amount at a time....I got mine off with out it, doing the twisting method spoke of above, but have used the can opener on lots of older cars...
