torynich Posted October 23, 2007 Share Posted October 23, 2007 I have a 76 280Z. I bought a 79 ZX 15/16 master cylinder to swap in. The Z MC where the hard lines screw in has adapters that are appx 1" diameter. The ZX MC boss is only appx 1/2" dia. Also, the Z MC has a spring with a rubber & metal disc with tiny holes in it that were under the hard line adapters. Does the ZX take something similar? The pieces dont fit in the ZX MC. That’s because it not supposed to be a problem… Both the Z and ZX master cylinders will mate to the 10mm brake line fittings. The “adapter†(as you put it) is part of the master cylinder.
