nakagusukumike
Why would my car rust like this? It's only in one spot. It's really bad in that spot. and it's the only spot on the car that's like that. ... Leaves me wondering. http://www.zeroyon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14806&st=
mikeatrpi
A poorly done accident repair in its past?
Challenger
Front grill opening takes quite a beating with water, salts and rocks. Salt and rocks can eat expose bare metal and the water gets trapped. Most of the z's have rust under the rear hatch because water drains from the back and just sits there. My educated guess. EMWHYR0HEN
Not a common place for rust on the early z's. No paint= rust.
materchan
my 76 had it there. not that bad, but it was the worst rust on the car.
bobbyc
there is a pocket right there...or was at one time...all the channels at the top of the fender funnel down into one point...where there is an opening that it can get in...from there dirt and water collect and rust it out. mario_82_ZXT
That's the only place mine's rusted out (almost as bad). So is my friend's. Both of our cars have always been AZ cars and they are spotless everywhere else... Weird indeed... Mario
Stealth-Z
My 78 280Z has a simular rust problem as yours. Funny how my 78 Fairlady Z had the rust problem on the other side.
