ktown z
Can the rb26dett fit in a 280z with the stock twin turbo setup or do I need to convert to a top mount single turbo? Also how much whp can I get out of the stock twins? Thanks
Cal Poly Zmanaustin
Yes, it will fit. The stock twins are probably good up to ~400rwp. I have the stock twins on mine and I am at 360rwp at 12psi. There is a wealth of information once you familarize yourself with the search function. Best of luck.
Careless
hey Cal, have you done any runs at 360 rwhp? Guestimation (i hate that word) of times?
Cal Poly Zmanaustin
Raff, 11.7 in the quarter. I think Stony did low 11's on the stock turbos at closer to 15psi.

Yes that is correct, stock turbos, 680cc injectors, stock gtr intercooler core and 15 PSI netted 392rwhp and that (in my car) should of had me in the hi 10s but the rear-end kept breaking on me. Best time was a 11.138 at 127 MPH and a 1.7 60 foot. You do the math knock of 1 or 2 tenths from the 60 foot and wam... 10 sec pass. 1.7 60 foot was with allot of wheel spin. That’s the only thing that saved the rear-end for as long as I was running it. As soon as I started tweaking tire pressure and suspension settings is when I started breaking things. An automatic conversion would have done wonders.
