PanzerAce
Stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyways. When I push the pedal all the way in, I shouldn't be able to push the throttle levers any further, correct? Oh, and what do you guys like to use for carb cleaner that you put in the gas tank? Yeah, if you have your foot to the floor and the carbs aren't all the way open, then you're not getting full throttle. I used a cable and there is a very tiny window where things can be adjusted so that full throttle is possible. Just a little bit off and it won't go all the way. I don't normally put carb cleaner in the tank, but Techron from Chevron works well, as does the BG carb cleaner, I think its called 44K but it's been years since I've used it. PanzerAce
Yah, I've got enough travel that I'm just going to go ahead and move which hole the cable is bolted to.
steveosupremeo
had great results with 44K.
PanzerAce
grrr...except the throttle cable needs to be replaced first. About 2/3 of the strands are broken, and the auto parts stores don't have it.
PanzerAce
Fixed it using a Avenir Universal Brake cable instead that I cut down with wire cutters. Part number 33-07-410 FYI. Now I just need to take her out to a dyno to see how much that inability to go WOT was costing me.
