Titus_RacerX
http://www.qmpracing.com/qmpcatalog/product_info.php?products_id=15879 I did this a few years ago for a Cobra Replica with a 390FE block. It's not that hard to do and the results turned out great. I'm thinking about doing it for my 280ZXT Hybrid. Do any racers have any input? dr_hunt
IMO, another 150 bucks gets you a ready to bolt on Stef's pan. My time TIG welding that would be more than 150 bucks and it'd probably not be true after all the heat put in that thin metal.
johnc
and it'd probably not be true after all the heat put in that thin metal. As I've done in the past, you need to weld it bolted on the block, starting from the pan rail up (down). Its a frickin' pain and I understand why Don Oldenberg charged a lot of money for the Nissan Motorsprots racing oil pan.
grumpyvette
Ive used similar kits, and even fabricated kits from scratch useing poster board patterns and tape first before cutting the sheet steel, and they are a huge benefit when theres no other route to building or buying a decent race style oil pan for your car, (try a 500 caddy engine as an example) yeah weld it up starting with a stock oil pan and do all the measuring on the car with the engine installed IN the car so you know the clearances are correct for your application
