cobraz240z Posted March 16, 2008 Share Posted March 16, 2008 Ok I just installed the carbs 3x2 dellorto 40's on my 70 240z, and the last carb is flooding and its only on one of the barrels its not the float adjustment of the float seat what can it be? Have you looked at any of the sites to learn how to adjust the floats? The fuel pressure for your webers should be less then 3 pounds for street driven cars. I have gone as low as 2 pounds for 45 DCOEs. When was the last time they where rebuilt? Anything you can tell us will help. Good Luck, Rich. cobraz240z Posted March 19, 2008 Author Share Posted March 19, 2008 It is a inline regulator and it has a fuel pressure gauge on it so im pretty sure its right, I just rebuilt the carbs and the flooding is only when the car runs I couldn't see it leaking with the car off! Sam280Z Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 OK, It is leaking. Where is it leaking from? Out of the throat? From the bottom? How are you setting the float level? Could your floats be damaged and have absorbed gas causing them to sit lower in the fuel bowl? Do you have a heat shield? 3.0Retroride Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 For me and my Webers the recurring problem seems to come from the (brass in my case) floats that develop a small leak- and then you have a sunk float. (unless one was pluged with gum or somthing) sounds to me like the idle screw isnt adjusted correctly or something along those lines. you prob should just look everything over, and if you cant see anything wrong, pull it apart and rebuild it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Collectindust240Z Posted March 21, 2008 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Are you running a return line? My Dell's will pour fuel out of the chokes without a return fuel line. The floats shouldn't be the problem if it's only pouring fuel from one choke. Maybe you have a vacuum leak on that cylinder. cobraz240z Posted March 22, 2008 Author Share Posted March 22, 2008 I do not have a fuel return or heat shield or a fire ex but i don't think its the gas boiling it does it even if I barely turn it on i'm going to play with it today see what i could do.
