FireMedic331
I just bought my first z car. It is a 72 240z, and it is all stock. I am looking for new wheels but do not know what offset/bs to get, or how big I can go without using flares. I found these MSR wheels i like: SIZEFINISHPATTERNOFFSETBSMCAP #LOADSHIP WT 17x7.5Super Finish Silver 4 on 4.5 +42 mm 5.84 23179-09 1400 lbs.24 lbs or these Size: 17x7 about 2" Lip. Bolt Pattern: 4x100 and 4x114.3 (4.5) Offset: +40mm Weight: 20.8 lbs each Aluminum Center Caps Included Require Tuner Lug Nuts (Not Included)
doublexl240z
Firemedic, You will need wheels with 0 offset or as close too that. The +40/+42 off wheels are for front wheel drive cars, where the wheel mounting flange is much closer to the out edge of the wheel. You would need a spacer between the wheel and hub equal to that offset. So, figure on a 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 in spacer which I doubt you have enough lug stud length to accomplish. I think you'll find (as have all of us Z guys have) that wheel choices are limited at best. I'm in the process of switching to a 5 x4.5 setup, and the first day I told somebody about it he sold me a set of 18x9 front, 18x10.5 rear wheels from his Cobra R for 500 bucks, with a decent set of Nitto track tires on them!! jerryb
I just came across these wheels! This is a great option without going to spacers. Not bad looking either..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280217251508&rd=1 Does anyone have experience with this brand?
