83turbo280zx
hey guys, im raising the boost on my 83 zx-t, how much should i do w/o an intercooler and stock ecu? i hear 10psi is safe on stock injectors and no intercooler, and i do have a greddy type S bov, so i wont have to worry about compressor surge, i also have a 3" full exhaust on the way, what should i do for the pop off valve? should i just take it off and plug it off w/ something from home depot? Calgary280ZT
10 psi is safe. More than that you're taking a risk. I just plugged off the pop off valve. Do a search, all this has been covered many times before.
MJLamberson
I am going off what I read here, with the stock injectors and no intercooler you may want to up the fuel pressure some.

jeffer949
So we should spoon feed every body simple little questions? If thats the case then why not just merge this site with zcar?
steveosupremeo
hahahahaahaaaa!!!!!! that is so true, they are a good site but a question is asked and answered a thousand times over there. haven't been in quite some time myself, lol
jeffer949
I dont go there either and thats why. This forum expects its members to search to find the information that is already been covered many times. If someone doesnt have enough desire to find the info he wants that he cant press the search button. Then why should we go out of our way to spoon feed him the answer. I have been noticing that its becoming more and more of a trend for people not to search. More and more posts are regarding to basic simple stuff that can be found in the archives rather easily. All right im done. My thing is simply "Help yourself"
83turbo280zx
ok sweet, thanks a lot guys, now i read a forum for a 240z turbo, and they suggested getting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, from my understanding my 83 has a rising rate fpr, so would i need to replace it, or would that fpr be good enough for 10 psi? steveosupremeo
i'm running 10 psi with the stock 83 regulator
wigenOut-S30
A bit of advice and cheap insurance I can give to you is.. Upgrade your Fuel pump. The stock pump starts to fail pretty badly at 10psi.. and if it is weak.. you go lean lean lean.. I have a walbro 255. I picked it up new for 100 bucks. I think its worth looking into. steveosupremeo
i used the msd pump with mine. runs great, pretty quiet, summit has them for about $95, rated at 500 HP.
Boosted_JDM
13psi will work fine / it is also what the stock turbo is good for. After that your just blowing hot air. 13psi, and 22psi, is a 1WHP difference, lol BTW 13psi will yield about 245WHP:burnout:
steveosupremeo
got a new boost guage on mine, i was actually boosting 13 psi on a stock regulator, but i wouldn't do more without a wideband. shouldn't have done any without a WB!
