turbostroker
What radiator do you guys recommend, and who has the best pest prices? A JTR plastic/aluminum, all aluminum like the MSA sells? I need something to keep my 3.1 turbo motor cool during SoCal street driving. Thanks
xxjoeyxxeb
I believe a popular one is from Jegs or Summit.... I think its Griffin?
Challenger
Might work on using the stock radiator more efficiently. If you look for Proxlaumus' radiator block off thread youll find it really helped his motor stay cool. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122197 Havent had my car on the road so I cant say it worked for sure, although it should... Calgary280ZT
We put an 82 rad from the turbo donor car in during the swap and I have been mightily impressed. Have been in Vegas rush hour and it never broke a sweat. What kind of driving will you be doing? I often drive from Calgary to California and if I spring a leak in some out of the way place, I can always find a rad shop to repair the stocker. Try getting one of those guys to repair an aluminum jobbie....
turbostroker
My driving will mostly be local street cruising and some track time, probably won't be going on any cross country trips in the Z (no room for the wife and 2 kids). Thanks for the link Challenger, it was interesting. I would like to use an aluminum unit. I know some of the hard core guys on the forum will bash me for saying I like the look...... but "I like the look". I know function over form, but I want my cake and eat it too. Challenger
I understand, my radiator sticks out like a soar thumb, aluminum radiator would look nice. But also, if your running a intercooler it really wont show. (depending on size)
turbostroker
Anyone know the part number or size of one of the Summit or Jegs universal radiators that fit the best on a 240.
ben280zx
Summit part # GRI-1-25202-X. That the one I got off of John(jmurphz33), he got it from Summit.

ezzzzzzz
If you go aluminum remember to isolate it from the body. The aluminum acts like an anode for the steel and will deteriorate into a bunch of pin holes. It needs to be fully detached using rubber or plastic an an isolator. wigenOut-S30
I am using the summit radiator. So far it is flawless. I did have to have the bottom inlet cut and welded to move it out of the way of the altinator.
