Challenger
Anyone know where to get something like this? The normal textured paint wont stand up to high temps like on the intake manifold. I recently saw some barbq paint which I assume is textured, Ill have to go get some and test it out. Anyone know of anything like this? junglist
VHT makes wrinkle paint which can go up to 350 degrees, I painted my valve cover red with it and it turned out pretty good. You can get it at Summit. Krylon also makes a black wrinkle paint but I don't know how hot it can get.

Challenger
Yeah I knew someone would mention that. Im to cheap for powdercoating but I might look into it. My friend bought one of the home powdercoating kits that I might test out on the manifold.
mikeatrpi
BBQ grill paint is not wrinkled. At least not the Krylon brand. It dries matte, particularly after its been exposed to heat. I did my brakes with it, and baked them on the grill to cure the paint.
cygnusx1
I used Eastwood black wrinkle paint on my intercooler plumbing. I'm not sure how hot it gets but it holds up fine under the hood right next to the radiator top. How hot is your application?
Challenger
Yeah I went to the store to look at the barbq stuff and its just like automotive high temp paint. Dave Im looking at using it for my intake manifold. I just dont want the paint to peel or fade and cause me to have to take it off.
