WIP: *another* S13 Dash Swap

Today i went in to the pick n pull just browsing and came across a clean s13 dash. So i pulled it and got everything in the pics(below) for 37$ and i didn't get the center console because i didn't bring enough money but i put it up so i can go back and get it. I say it was a good deal even though it was blue. I haven't started anything yet but tomorrow I'm pulling the stock dash out and begin trimming the s13 dash. My plan is to use the stock gauges on a custom alloy plate cluster i will make so i don't have to mess with anything, i might not use the 3 center gauges because i think i have a set of autometer gauges that will measure water temp, volt, and fuel. Those will be mounted on a alloy plate in the center where the vent is. Let me know what you think yay or nay. I have a autometer tach but no speedo, even if i had both i wouldn't use them because i like the original speedo and tach.:-D

Don't you need the JDM center console because of handbrake location?

I'm not at all sure on that, it's just something I remember seeing in the posts about this swap.

Don't forget that there are other countries in the world that are not JDM but still have the controls on that side of the car :)

Update: I couldn't wait till tomorrow to start so i just did as much as i felt like before it got dark. I pull the stock dash out and i just sit it aside the s13 dash for now. I tried putting the 240z speedo and tach into the s13 cluster area but it was a no go. So looks like i will be getting a new speedo and tach from autometer. I also mocked up the 3 guage cluster i plan on putting in the front center vent.

The tach i have i have now is just a little over sized for the s13 cluster area but with a little trimming i can get it to fit right in there, then i would have to make a panel to mount it to. im finishing up the trimming today so it will sit right then at 2 my friend is coming over so we can think of how were going to mount it to get it solid. (He is also swapping dashes but he is using a z32 or z31 dash not sure though).

When I mounted my dash I epoxied some L brakets to the underside of the dash. Then I removed (drilled spot welds) the old underdash brackets from the firewall. Relocated them to correspond with the L brackets. I also used the center console side attachments and welded nuts to the firewall for added rgidity and used some flat metal to make brackets that tie the ends of the dash to the area bellow the A pillar. Definitely recommend not doing any of this until you get the center console. Fix the dash in place and you have no adjustment for the center console to line up. The higher the dash is to the windshield the angle is way too steep for the center console to alighn. mount the dash too low so that the center console has some wiggle and the shifter alignment is way off. I couldn't get any of the pics in the thread to open so I do not know if you ran across any of this yet. RHD blue center may be difficult to come across. not a popular color.
