SidWell
Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the 78Z fuel pump? Alternatively, can someone tell me what harness connector the wiring goes thru? What energizes the fuel pump? I am under the impression that it is the oil pressure sensor. Is this correct?
gwnwar
Ignition starts it.. after running oil pressure switch keeps it going.. If oil pressure go to low fuel pump shuts off.. Alot of this runs through the fuel pump relay.. I think the harness goes down the pass side..
chrism
Pressure switch will enable fuel pump relay at same time start switch is on. If the oil pressure switch wire is not connected to fuel pump relay, the relay will not energize and the car will not start. Also, you will not get voltage to the injectors because the fuel pump 12v source is connected to one side of the dropping resistor that goes to the injectors. This is what I can see looking at the wire diagram.
