Vindicare
Hi guys, Chasing one of these steering wheels. It was a JDM optioned steering wheel. Same as the old wood one but with leather instead. I've tried yahoo auctions, with no luck so far. If anyone could point me in the right direction to getting one, that would be great. Cheers
naviathan
Ummm, that looks like the one I have on my 77, but it's a stock piece.
Tatsuki
It is known as Datsun competition steering wheel aka "Datsun compe" in Japan. Original one costs like $200 bucks, the new Nismo10th aniversary one(same shape) was $500 on yahoo auction in Japan. There is much more rare steering wheel called "mach steering wheel". This thing goes crazy on price. Usually over 1k. Some of them are 3k. Be carefull, There are fake ones. So many japanese people like rare stuffs, that's why price goes up. If my english was hard to read, please forgive me.

blue72
Instead of waiting for one to appear, why not have one made? Take your existing 240Z wheel to a company that makes custom covers. Let them re-create the stitching pattern in black leather, and voila! I'm not sure the costs involved, but at least you won't have to wait to find a used one. Vindicare
i have time to wait, i'd prefer a stock one, not a custom one. If i wanted custom i'd stick with what i have already or buy something else. But really i want to go back to a stockish steering wheel, im just not keen on wood. blue72
yeah mate im not too keen on spending $2400 on a wheel. That is a heavily inflated price. One sold 2 weeks ago NOS for 695.... I'm not a chump. It's one of the first ones I'd seen for sale, and you didn't mention how desperate you were to have one, so I thought I'd let you know about it. The guy selling it has it posted on classiczcars.com and says he'll just put it back in storage for a few more years if it doesn't sell at what he admits is an inflated price. I've also seen a few on Japanese speed shop websites, but haven't bothered with currency or language conversion. Is there a price range/location/condition you're looking for? You didn't say.
