Guest Jenna86
I'm sorry if anyone has covered this before, but I am hoping to avoid swaping a tranny that dosn't work into my z. There are a half a dozen vehicles that list an fs5w71c as the stock transmission, but it seams there are almost as many different gear ratios, front housing bolt paternes, and shifter positions listed with these different cars. Does anyone out there have a guide to compatable vehicles?...ie. can I put the fs5w71c from (x)vehicle into (y)vehicle that came with an fs5w71c? Thanks in advance. naviathan
I would imagine it would just be a matter of changing the bellhousing to match.
TrumpetRhapsody
... which has to be done anyway to mate one up to a L28 And no, I haven't seen anything like what you're looking for here or elsewhere.

Not if you find the factory 71c with a L6 bellhousing like did here in NZ - it was from a JDM Laurel powered by a LD28 I think around the 86 vintage ie last of the LD28 just before the RD28 was used. However I have not pulled the box apart to see what the ratios are but given it was from a diesel I am guessing the ratios will not be that flash.
