cygnusx1
I came across this part at RockAuto.com. Is this something that can be used to save those heads that have been milled just a bit too much and when you dont want to shim the cam towers? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1209406&parttype=5420 Pretty cool. JMortensen
The picture looks like a headgasket. The description doesn't say what the thickness of it is, unless I missed it. As far as I can see it would have all the same drawbacks of a thicker headgasket. Shimming the cam towers would be my preferred method of fixing the timing chain slack and cam timing issues. Kash
Any additional comments on its application? Would you need a head gasket below and above for proper sealing (Head-gasket-shim-gasket-block)? I'm trying to get 2.5 to 3.0 mm between my head and block for my stroker rebuild (L28 rod and zxt dish pistons). This will be for a turbo application, so I'm not too concern with quench.
