drwharton85
Of the Rb series engines are the heads all the same dimensions? Would the valve covers, cam gear cover and the plug wire cover be inter-changable between each of the engines. For example would the valve covers from an RB26 fit on the RB20? Stealth-Z
Here are some photos showing some of the differences between the RB20 and RB26 valve covers and timing covers. They are mounted on a RB20 head with the intake manifold bolted on for reference.

Evan Purple240zt
i know rb25 and 26 covers are interchangeable, because i've seen it. With the crossover intake manifold? I don't think I have. Evan
Careless
no it had a greddy unit, it was mentioned in a for-sale ad from an importation website
drwharton85
From the pictures it looks like with a different plenum and a little fab it would be possible. Unless the bolts dont match up, DO THEY? Will the RB26 valve covers seal the RB20 head? Thanks for the help.

yo880
The N/A RB25's have a cover similar to the RB20 too.. RB25DET is different (has a raised section at the back).. the RB25DE still fitted on the RB25DET.. but not sure what clearence is like underneath (i realised they were different after i put them on and replaced them back to rb25det)
drwharton85
just like to let everyone to know that i just got my RB26 valve covers in the mail from stealth-z and they bolted right up on the RB20.

Careless
Will the RB26 valve covers bolt to a RB25? yes, but not with factory intake, it may hit the bumps that are on the center of the 26 valve covers. with a greddy intake (you can get one from jgy customs), it will work. 240Z_Master
Well, I've already got the manifold, so I'm golden.

Wedge
I was planning on trying it out since i find the RB26 cover to be more pleasing to my eye then the 25 one but i would grind away the 26 number and leave the RB letter to not have it pass for a 26 when its not . Well, the front cover might not work on the 25 due to the variable valve timing, so I think I have to use the front cover from the 25. Yeah, you are sort of stuck with the front cover. RB26 valve covers would still look good on yours.
