MaTTSuN
thats the sound my engine makes when i start up it cranks then something hits really hard and it barley cranks then it starts its like all the power from the starter goes somewhere else like the ignition maybe. but it is very anoying and it makes my cool turbo Z sound like a crappy car on start up just wondering how i can tune it out

Brad-ManQ45
More importantly, what's it set to during cranking? 10 degrees should work well. Idle would be 20-24 degrees.
cygnusx1
Are you using my map? My car used to do the exact same thing. It went away when I switched to EDIS. I even tried reducing the timing at cranking speeds and cranking- Kpa values but I never fully fixed it.
MaTTSuN
ive made my own map ... i started with metro's then tuned from there. Id like to go to EDIS but maybe not till next summer, need to start collecting the parts
mobythevan
If you are using time based cranking you may need to hold ignition off for a couple spins of the crank so that it gets up to speed before you start firing.
WizardBlack
Too much cranking timing can virtually backspin the motor.
