Z-Dreamer
Anybody here know anything about these? http://www.rotrex.com/ Mark
yellowoctupus
Hey Mark, great find. I haven't heard of Rotrex before, but they are part of Maersk, which is a huge manufacturing company, they make a lot of CNC machines (as well as who knows what else) so at least they're probably not a fly by night company. Guest Forced_Firebird
I think I saw one of those on a BMW with high static CR, is that the one with a clutch/transmission? I see the planetary gears in the exploded view

I see the planetary gears in the exploded view I'm not sure, but I know that there are kits for BMW's and others. See the dealer list at the Rotrex site. roger280zx
Look up the Koenigsegg (formorly fastest production car in the world). Its got two! Also hks sells them as a kit for 350Z. Planetary gears, self contained oil, great efficiency, and oh yeah its quiet!
PanzerAce
Z-Dreamer, how about you buy one and let us know how they turn out
PanzerAce
Bumping this. It actually seems like these are an almost ideal solution for people that want to SC their L engines. Mount it on the right, run a FMIC and then into the intake. Apparently HKS uses them for their 350Z SC kits, and they are used on a fair number of other high performance cars. I'd say go for it if you want, but I don't think anyone makes a bracket for it to mount to an L, so you'll probably have to fab one/get one fabbed
Guest Forced_Firebird
There's a guy in a Chevy Cavalier who has one on a V6 (FWD) and he's in the low 12's intercooled.
BelgianZ
Another bump for a great product! Is there really nobody who runs such a setup?
letitsnow
Another bump for a great product! Is there really nobody who runs such a setup? They're kinda pricey, not horrible, but a decent chunk of cash. http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.php?cPath=168_116&products_id=1260518526
Xnke
Looks like Rotrex uses a Holset compressor wheel and housing, on a custom gearbox. Interesting.
PanzerAce
I'd still like to do a build with one of these units at some point, but that's going to have to wait for a spare shell (and money).
