  1. Hello, I needed an NA 300ZX R200 VLSD for my project car. This is what I found. Can anyone tell wether or not this is the correct item? I can't find a definitive answer anywhere else. R200V Short nose, 5 Bolt ouput shafts (240SX) Ratios 3.90, 4.08 LSD Viscous R200V Short nose, 300ZX NA, 5 Bolt ouput shafts Ratios 4.09 LSD Viscous Can anyone tell me what all the differences are between these two differentials? I bought a diff today of which I thought it could only be a 300ZX diff, but now I am not so sure anymore. Ratio is definitely 4.08 or 4.09, it also has LSD, but is it possible that the flanges are different? These are all the data I can find. Alloy finned cover 4.xx : 1 gear ratio 5 bolt output flanges 4 bolt input flange 2 abs sensors shortnose case 38311 43M00 part number on the top of the case.

  3. When maximum lift is .480, I guess timing is measured at 0.050 lift:mrgreen:

  5. +1 That is a very crappy catalog to say the least! Are there really no other parts available for an L6 engine? I want to see more beautifully crafted cranks, rods, pistons, headers, intake manifold...
  6. I have no idea, but the website is still online. There are many links to suppliers that no longer work, probably because most of them went bust. Anyone who can shed some light on this question?
  7. I couldn't find a list of several L6 engine parts suppliers, so I thought I'd start with a small list. I would really appreciate it if other, more experienced, people could chime in and make this a complete list. 8. Wow, great sounding engine! Were the coil packs the cause of your trouble?
  9. Another bump for a great product! Is there really nobody who runs such a setup?
  10. Even if you have to buy some extra parts, I would definitely get hold of such a great package. That is of course if, as you say, the price is right:)
  11. Hi, Since there seems to be no previous record of this part, I would like to ask you for your opinions on this intake manifold. Anyone with personal experiences with Tomei parts for the L6 can post their comments too:) I have already heard quite a lot of bad reports on the Mangoletsi intake for the L6, therefor I am looking to get a good alternative. I guess it would be an awesome setup using this intake manifold and Jenvey or TWM individual throttle bodies. This is the Tomei triple Weber/Solex intake manifold for the L6 engine. http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/e122_intake_carb.html Here's the complete Tomei line up for L6 engines. http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/e027_kisyubetsu_l6_ae.html Kind regards, Kristof.
  12. There are many Chevy V8 engine builders in America, but is it possible to have an engine-transmission combo built in America (by one shop) so that I can have the entire package shipped to Europe? Great thread BTW:icon14:
  13. Hi, Does anyone know what happened to this firm? The website used to be www.amerspeed.com, but the link doesn't seem to work anymore. I already tried Google, but I cannot find any information. Do any of you can tell me more? Just curious... K.
  14. Thanks Alex, That's the sort of info I was looking for. The reason I want a strong bottom end is not for the 300hp mentioned. I just don't want to tear the entire engine apart every time I upgrade engine output (with another turbo, wastegate, etc). Do you have an opinion on reliability of tuned (>350whp) or is that an issue when they are professionally built? www.norrisdesigns.com is just across the channel, they seem to be a great option for Europe customers. A la prochaine fois, K.
  15. Hello, I'm quite new to this part of the forum since I had my mind set on upgrading my 240Z from a 3.1 litre stroker to a SBC. However since I am in Europe and all great engine builders in America, transportation costs would be too much money lost. I have totally no experience with Nissan 4 cylinder engines and the SR20-forum didn't supply much info (except for many people bragging with (genuine) horsepower numbers. Is there a GrumpyVette-kind-a-person here who knows everything about these engines, or are there no real (professional) engine builders on this forum? I have completely restored my car, but it's still waiting for an engine. My goal is to get a really strong bottom end and continue building it from there (I want lots of horsepower, but low lag, like-standard reliability, no cats or other restrictions and 300 whp to begin with). Is there a consensus on parts quality as there is for Chevrolet engines or does everyone just guess? These are the parts I need advice on: 1) Crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons 2) Turbochargers (with minor turbo lag) 3) Head components 4) Engine electronics (though already discussed in another thread) To summarize: who are the best parts manufacturers? Are they within the budget of a non-millionaire? Do you have personal experiment (good or bad) with them? Thanks, K.
  16. Hi, I've been reading more lately instead of posting, so I know the basics of an SBC, but I definitely want to have it built in America (I just don't trust the engine builders around here). I know more or less what I'd want (350/355 SBC, Tremec TKO 500) but I still have a few questions. 1° I want 5sec 0-60mph and 155mph performance. How much rear wheel horsepower do I need? 2° Reliability is my first concern: what engine builder do you recommend? ps Wall Street had a great year in 2005, budget for engine, clutch and transmission is $8.000. Kind regards, Z.
  17. Hi, Does anybody have 0-60mph or standing kilometre times (which are more commonly used in Europe) for his V8 Z? I still haven't decided to put in a 350 SBC in stead of my 3.1litre stroker (which is fun on the track but not for daily driving). I've just put in an R200 diff, so power shouldn't be an issue. My goal is to achieve a 5.0sec 0-60 time and standing kilometre in less than 25 seconds. How much rear wheel horsepower do I need with a Tremec TKO 500 and a R200 3.9 diff with 245/45/16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 rear tires? Thanks.
  18. Still nobody with more info on this beautiful car? No suggestions to find the paint codes?
  19. I know it's been a while since anyone posted here, but what the hell! What do you think about the Weber Performance Street Twin from Roadcraft Repower in UK for a 383 CID with 460 BHP? http://www.roadcraftuk.co.uk/index.asp?productID=WEB640037&display=main&Col_Category=Transmission+%26+Drivetrain&Col_SubCategory=Clutch+Components&Col_SubSubCategory=Street+Twin
  20. Hi, I'm also thinking of repainting my 1972 240Z. I was completely amazed by what Mr. Miyahara did with his 240Z(G). It has three shades of champagne color: body/flares+back end/front bumper. Q: Is it not-done to copy this or should I only care about what I like? Q: Is there any possibility to find out what the colour codes of this beautiful car are? Tell me what you think and I'd suggest to keep uploading car with great color schemes!
  21. Hi Russ, A few months ago I was absolutely convinced about American muscle in my sleek Datsun 240Z: it just had to be an awesome package. In search of some solid information I contacted someone in America who had actually built a V8 Datsun (don't be fooled: many people think they know alot about this conversion, but only few have really built a reliable, powerful HybridZ of which all the parts have been modified for 400HP+ power outputs). I stumbled on Pete Paraska's website: www.alteredz.com. Pete completely describes how he completed his project with a 500HP+ engine. That ain't no job for new kids on the block, trust me. However, he was very helpful in my search for a reliable, yet powerful turnkey engine package. For the engine I got 3 websites: www.sdpc2000.com www.sallee-chevrolet.com www.shafiroff.com Of these suppliers Shafiroff should be a real top-quality engine builder. For the transmission you should check out www.gforcetransmissions.com. However, I did hear that the T56 six-speeder is no option, because it's too long. I hope my words can help you a little further to what might be a beautiful car one day. PS: the shipment costs were huge, I really don't know what I'm gonna do for now. Work a little more first, I guess.
