BAlford
I found a 1987 300 2+2 AT with a CV rear end. I do not know anything about how good it is, about 160,000 miles. Its at a salvage. Is anyone interested? Also a 1983 280ZX 2+2 AT with open U-joint rear end.
CruxGNZ
Was it a Turbo car? !M!
BAlford
The motor and trans were gone. I tried to see anything that would tell me and did not see anything that said turbo.
BAlford
Found a 1986 300ZX with CV axels and two extra CV axels today at a salvage. Will the 1986 model fit in a 280ZX that has CV axels? It was an auto trans, what gear ratio would it have.
CruxGNZ
1984-86 MT and A/T 3.70 (R200) 1984-86 Turbo MT and A/T 3.54 (R200) Not too sure on your other question though. !M!
Mike C
The 300 CV axles are too wide to fit in earlier cars. I'm pretty sure ALL of the 300's were CV half shafts.
BAlford
If the 300 are too wide then how do you fit an 87 R200 with the ribed case into a 280ZX.
pparaska
I think the diff and case width are the same, if they're all R200s. But the issue is that the 300ZX CV shafts are too long to use in a Z and probably a 280ZX also. I'd think you could just put the 280ZX Turbo (and some 2+2) CV shafts in and it'd all fit and go together.
