73BOTIZ
I had to also use the front differential mount from a 280Z on my 73. Mike D.
Mike C
You may have to use an R200 rubber mount from a 75-78 car as well. That I don't remember on mine as to which I used. My r200 was from a 78 and my car a 72. All I changed was mustache bar and diff and MAYBE the front mount, I just can't recall. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a new one however... pparaska
For the R200 install, the mustache bar needs to be installed with the loops forward of the long part of the bar.
Guest buschj
Thanks for the lightning fast responses; your help is greatly appreciated. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find any mention of putting the loops in front. You guys are awesome.
Guest buschj
Problem: The front differential mount and the frame mounting area DO NOT line up when the mustache bar is correctly mounted. The front mount is 1-½ inches in front of where it needs to be for the holes to line up. The only way I can see it working is to turn the mustache bar around, but it looks like it could interfere with the link mounting braces. Here is a list of the parts I’m using: Differential - 81’ 280ZX 3.9 Mustache bar - 78’ 280Z w/R200 w/ urethane bushings Front Mount – Original Car – 73’ 240 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
