kcambron
I'm planning on useing a stock 1981 thru 1983 wiring harness and Nistune on a fairly stock engine( 60mm TB, .57 trim turbo,41mm wastgate, 12x8x4 intercooler, Z31dist,2mm head gasket). I'v heard the stock harness is slightly better on the 81, is this true? will it matter with the Nistune? Any thoughts for injectors-fuel rail for this setup? how much boost would I have to run to get 275 to 300hp(my goal)? WAADaya think?
Kash
The 82-83 harness is what you need. If you will running a Nistune set-up you should be able to produce 300hp with the stock rail and a set of SVO injectors @ 18+ psi.
averynisbet
If your going to be running a z31 ECU for nistune way not just use the z31 harness from the car you pulled the ECU from? -Avery
GrayZee
If your going to be running a z31 ECU for nistune way not just use the z31 harness from the car you pulled the ECU from? -Avery Well you could, but a z31 harness is taylor made to connect to a V6 engine. The injector plugs, maf, chts, ect would all be in the wrong place. You would have to modify it quite a bit to make it fit the straight 6 properly. A 82/83 harness would be your best bet IMO
randy 77zt
i have a few ecm's and a 81 harness laying around.it seemed to me after running it its better to start with all new connectors and build a new harness to go with my aftermarkit efi system.so i removed all old nissan stuff. blu240z
imo the 81 harness has less stuff and easier to hook up imo.ive ran both harnesses with jwt electronics.
