AFISoilRasmus
How about dropping a 77 pontiac V8 motor and tranny in a 1983 280zx? How hard could that be?

PurePontiacKid
77 pretty much means it's a 400 and all Pontiac blocks are the same, from the 350 all the way to the 455, the only differences were the bore/strokes
jintei
Hello there! I work with pontiac firebirds and to tell you the truth a 77 pontiac engine is useless, even if comes in a trans am it only producess 180 horsepower, and since its a big block its really heavy for the z , if you want to use a pontiac engine i recommend you find one made prior to year 73(those were the good hp years) . but otherwise its better to use any other small block, they are lighter, normally have the same hp, and drinks less gas!
