bianski
I have been looking around for a couple of days and i cannot find the knowledge that i need. The differences in strength and if they are interchangeable without further modification. Between a Naturally aspirated 77 Z crank and a turbo motors Crank. thanks
woldson
They are the same. Both are forged, if you were not aware.

jintei
if they are the same then why fidanza make 2 different aluminum flywheels?
kiwi303
if they are the same then why fidanza make 2 different aluminum flywheels? Because the clutches were different, Turbo and NA have the same cranks, but the NA has a 225mm friction surface dia and the Turbo has a 240mm dia surface. jintei
oh crap..... Now the new clutch disc i had stored (its 225 mm) ain't going into my L28et. good thing i haven't changed it yet. (now i know why a pal is always pissed at his clutches not lasting) great info!
Tony D
Curious, my 225mm clutch has held up fine in turbo service. It all depends on what you are doing, and what clutch material you use. It's not a 'mandatory' item by any means. The argument can be made that the increased moment of inertia of the 240mm Pressure Plate kills a lot of throttle response in small throttle transients. My wife hates my turbo car, because she says it has an 'on-off throttle'... Muahahahahaha!
TimZ
if they are the same then why fidanza make 2 different aluminum flywheels? I think Tilton might have had two different flywheels, but I thought that my Fidanza was drilled for both, with a heat shield big enough to accomodate either the 225 or the
