tech9
I just wanted to say I love it. I used the high temp manifold paint on a couple of turbo manifolds. Also painted my oil pan and soon engine block with it. It sprays on very well, way better then brushing, although you can only brush on the high temp. Tx1021
Looks good, POR 15 really is great stuff
Porterhausen
I have been told its a royal pita to spray, both because of the solvents necessary to use for it, and its consistency. How did you find spraying it? Good, bad, whatever.
attworth
I did my oil pan like that as well. Soon I'll be doing my engine bay like TX1021. Great stuff. Their tank sealer is awesome too.
KunoZ
POR-15 makes rusty Z cars happy again!! Love the stuff but never really considered spraying it though. I always though it was just supposed to be brushed on, but what ever works eh?

How did you find spraying it? Good, bad, whatever. It is definitely worse to spray than most things but its really not too bad. Just buy a cheap gun you can throw away after. If I remember correctly, we had to run solvents through the gun twice while spraying the engine bay just to keep it going and by the end the gun was pretty clogged up. blue72
I'm a long time POR-15 fanatic too. Just got done coating the new floors in the 510 last week and it's just starting to wear off my hands. I've also sprayed it in the past. Didn't have any difficulties at all using a normal HVLP gun. We sprayed the entire 18' frame of my Suburban with it, two coats. I did make sure to order some of their proprietary thinner beforehand which helped with the cleanup, but we sprayed the POR-15 itself without dilluting it one bit and it went on perfectly. Careless
heck, I would consider getting a stockpile and making a dip-tank out of some rubbermaids. that way you can dip a bunch of parts in one by one, and don't have to worry about spraying or brush marks, and you will coat the entire thing nicely. LOL. just a pipe dream. *now off to browse eBay for dip-tanks that a Z can fit in... and a lot of POR or Rust Bullet.*
Xnke
Just add about a gallon of water to that dip tank when it's all done...it'll turn into a rock in about a week. POR-15 is a "Catalyst B" type paint, it hardens via moisture. Done that way to suck the water molecules out of the rusty area.
tech9
I thinned mine out to spray it with just a little laq thinner. Very little in fact, and it sprayed on very nice with my $30 gun. Prob wouldn't use a good gun with this.
tech9
One question, when doing the fuel tank in a 280z car is there any prep? I know there is a screen in there, but you have to cut the tank to get to it. (my other Z I had to cut the top open and re weld to get to the screen)
