Yes, note the motor in the back and the sparks, probably a metal plate used to create sparks for show. You know, like those low riders put in the back of their trucks to make a **** storm of sparks. Wheelstanders were indeed real race cars. For instance, the Hemi Under Glass Baracuda was running in the mid to low nines on two wheels as was Bill Shrewsberry's Little Red Wagon. These exibition cars often ran head to head. Granted Mid nine second runs may not sound like a lot to you young kids, but in 1963 that was pretty darn good! Actually I doubt there are many 9 second (while carrying the wheels) Z's on the board. This is just my beyond old school (preschool?) opinion.
