BR3NNAN
I have a 76 280z and as you know it comes stock with the turn signals in the top grill. Well i put a 240z air dam on it with the turn signal on the bottom and got rid of the top ones but it still has the square housings their. I really like the look of an "open mouth" and dont want to put any kind of grill in. This one has a pretty clean frontend. Does anyone have any ideas or a write up on that metal insert is guess you would call it. Ive been searching for a few days now and cant find anything to help. thanks
Kevin.pk
It just some fabricated duct work that directs air flow to the radiator. I know there are tons more pics of this car somewhere, but am not sure if there is a write up of any sort. That is a hybridz member's car though. I just don't remember his screen name. BR3NNAN
That still leads to the stock turn signals housings. I was thinking about cutting them out but idk. Has anyone does this before? this is the front of my car. See what im talkin about? the pics kinda dark and you cant see how messy the lower part is but you can see the housings. rturbo 930
I have a '76 280Z as well, and I plan on 240Z bumpers, turn signals, grill, etc. I will be cutting off the brackets. I don't see why I shouldn't.
BR3NNAN
that was my plan too. I was just seeing if anyone has a write up on where to cut or if anyone who has done it before can give me some pointers or something. I dont want to just start hacking away ya know. Grind smooth, and you should be good to go. It's not part of the body work, so I personally wouldn't bother with body filler.

WizardBlack
Mine were cut off when I bought the car. They are made of pretty thick steel but can't stand up to a sawzall.
