HICKL
Spent 4 hours Friday hitting 15 junk yards and can't find a T5 for a SBC. Found plenty of v6 ones. Does anybody have a lead on a T5 for me? In Texas?? Can a V6 tranny be adapted? I know the bell housing is different and the splines. Is it a weaker tranny or the same? Please help, Don't make me us my TH350!!! Mike C
The V6 trans can be adapted with the appropriate bellhousing. It is not as strong as the V8 trans and has either a 3.27 or 3.50 first gear since not many people who bought V8 Camaros bought the manual trans. The V8 trans have a 2.95. They are not easy to find. Keep looking and eventually one will turn up. WHen you need something specific, you can wait and get it for what you want to pay, or get it right now and pay whatever who has it wants. Another option to consider is getting an adapter bellhousing/scattershield (McLeod and Lakewood both make one of these.)and using the Ford T5 which is MUCH more common. I would even consider buying one new, or the Tremec for a Ford. The adapter bellhousing lets you use the Ford trans and comes with a special pilot bushing. HS1370
Jeff, There are two on ebay right now. Both appear to be fine spline t-5's which would make the from a camaro, not a s-10. One is currently at about $250.00, the other guy is too high with a starting bid of 350.00. Neither one says if it is a world class t-5, though you could email the seller they may know. Although not a plentiful as the mustang t-5's, there is a fairly steady stream listed on ebay. Scott
Guest Thurem
This one is NOT a world class transmission, and will only hold up to about 230 hp. Thats all I could find, but keep an eye out.

flibuoy
bought mine off Ebay with flywheel, clutch assembly, slave, driveshaft and shifter. They are not uncommon on there. Also any larger wrecking yard can do a search for you on their network or refer you. john
