johnc
These types of saws have been around for a while. Electrical contractors use them for conduit, drywall, 2 x 4s, etc. Its just a different kind of marketing. They are generally accurate +/- 1/4" in metal depending on how securely you can hold it which is a little too far off for me, IMHO. I prefer a very thin (1/32") abrasive cutoff wheel in a high speed die grinder. Edited April 19, 2009 by johnc
evildky
I had the craftsman version, it works great for cutting tube or bar stock, useless for sheet, and you have to keep adding consumable lube stocks, and mine died after only a hardful of uses and of course craftsman warranty on power tools is less than stellar, so I'm back to the chop saw
Challenger
"Like a train on a track the dual saw knows how to do one thing... cut!" Hahaha! What kind of tolerances do they have between the 2 blades? I find it interesting that they said it took millions of dollars to design the counter rotating blades although it is quite simple.... cygnusx1
Probably millions of dollars in legal fees and marketing, not design.
mrandrei
Dual saw works great. Very tough, plus the assembly is also minimal.
