lgoodson@pacbell.net
I know everyone has been through this before and if you don't know about the fuel injection it can be a head scratcher. I started the engine and it started right up but it wouldn't stay running. I had to continually pump the pedal to keep it going, After I did that for a few minutes then it stayed running by itself. It acted like it was starving for fuel. There is no Cold start valve like on the 280Z so what could be the problem. At this point the Air temp sensor and the O2 sensors are not hooked up. No exhaust and intake air installed yet. Could this be the problem? Any Ideas Larry
deja
My 94 started and idled fine without the O2 and temp sensors. Check the fuel pressure during strating.
gvincent
Did you do the VATS delete? How about the fuel pump relay, it needs to see the VATS and oil pressure from the ECM to stay on.
lgoodson@pacbell.net
Thanks everyone. The Vats have been removed but it was the fuel pump relay. Brand new too. I noticed that the fuel pump was not coming on when I turned the key on so I had to trouble shoot that and found that the relay was bad, Replace it and the car fire right up and runs fine. I thought that it was fuel starvation. Thats what it was acting like and sure enough. Thanks for the help. If I hadn't figured it out on my own you all would have gotten me going.
