insywinsy
Well I'm 18 and I just bought my first Z about a week ago, a '81 280zx, for $2k. I live in Australia. I looked around at all sorts of v8 z's, 260's, and no cheap 240's But I ended up choosing the 280zx because it had a great body and the interior has all the technology of a more modern car and a nice price. I think that if you can have a look at the car, compare the condition it's in with other z's, you will have a better idea of what you think it is worth. My car has a few minor issues, like gas struts etc but I love it and yesterday I got stared at by a girl in yellow 260... I'm sure we'll meet again. And always give a low offer. TLP_280ZX
from the looks of it though, the body is straight and the paint is good. im trying to talk the owner down and he wont budge! maybe if i wave benjamins in his face he'll think twice. he's gonna send me more detail pics, and if it looks good and i buy, ill share with HybridZ

frank280zx
You would have to pay me to take a 280zx...Nothing is better than a S30! come and pay me to take my s30's Anyway for the real question at hand.. If you live in teh US that is a fairly steep prize, id focus on looking some mor . I bought two cars that basically needed a good 600 in parts to be very solid ( i mean no rust!! ) for 400 to 500.. What i did is replace all bushings balljoints, brakes lines etc .. Then paint and your set !
TLP_280ZX
well the deal didnt go through:(, took fellow HybridZ member advices and checked all the necessary areas for rust. the trunk was the worse still looking for a decent Z. might be going to see one this weekend
