l28et question

Hi there my name is Christian and I recently purchased a 73 with an 83 l28et in it. I bought it basically not running and I've gotten it to the point where it runs pretty good now. Now that I've gotten it running decent I started looking at some of the things that I want to take care of, and one of the first things I came across is that it has a na dizzy in it. I'm not sure why? or whats going on with it because the advance port on the side of it is blocked off with some sort of epoxy. So my question is why is there an na dizzy running my l28et? Thanks a lot.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think it may also be a locked dizzy so it doesn't pull a bunch of advance timing. I may be totally wrong there but I think that is why.

Correct. As NA and turbo motors require different ignition curves, in order to keep an NA dizzy for a turbo swap the mechanical advance needs to be locked.
