  2. I found a scooter I would really, really like to get (08 Honda Ruckus, something cheap on gas really) but here is my problem. The guy I want to buy it from does not have the title or the keys, however he does have a bill of sale from the original owner and is willing to offer me a bill of sale as well, but I really want to find out if this thing is stolen. He sent me pictures of the VIN but since we don't have to register a motorized vehicle under 50cc in the state of AR, I can't call the DMV and see if it was ever reported stolen. Would calling the local police departments in the surronding counties be my only option?

  4. Not trying to be rude, but the search button can tell you everything. Also, no such animal as a 1985 280z, the 280z was from 1975-1978 then in 1979 the 280zx was introduced and stoppped production in 1983. Since your question now makes no sense, what can we actually help you with?

  9. In my opinion, if it starts, then you will know it is at least not the battery.
  10. If it is a 78 standard car it should have an r200. If it is an auto 78 then it might have an r180. But remember that sometimes people put different rear ends in them because the go out, get old, etc etc.
  11. The ITB EFI is going to be your best bet in terms of reliability and power. ITB + MS + 83 Turbo Dizzy = Good power and economy.
  12. Nice! My dad and I cleaned up my grandparents property a few years back and maybe about $350 just hauling in old metal. We had just shy of 2 tons but metal prices were a lot better then.

  16. Did you get the correct head gasket? If not you could be partially if not fully blocking a couple of the cooling ports.
  17. What is this paint color/code and who/where did you buy it? That is hands down my favorite color for a Z car and I need to save this information for a later date ha ha. (By the way, I have no plans in following your exact paint scheme so yours will be totally original still.)

  19. Sounds like what most people are saying, valve adjustment. Honestly, the first thing I thought was exhaust leak (I have had several cars with exhaust leaks that sounded like lifter noise) so if the exhaust is all rusty like you claim, replacing it couldn't hurt anyway.
  20. Turbos and carbs work sometimes, but if you are looking for power + reliability PanzerAce hit it on the head, Fuel injection will do more for you and your setup than you can even imagine. If you are still use the l24/e31 or e88 combo, a good headgasket will go a long way too and depending on the thickness, may lower compression which can make it a little less prone to detonantion. My ideas on power + reliability f54 block/p90 head (there is no replacement for displacement right guys??) Megasquirt, the OEM 280zx FI technology is now almost 30 years old on the newest model, megasquirt gives you the tuning ability at an extremely affordable price. Get a pallnet fuel rail and some 440cc turbo supra injectors from a 7mgte to be able to put more fuel in without reaching maximum duty cycle on your OEM injectors (unless you just plan on running low boost for a while) Intercooler- Lowers IAT (intake air temperature if I am remembering right) But a lot of your question can be answered with this: What are your goals and what is your budget? By the way, I am head over heels in Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. I thought I understood turbochargers until I opened it and was amazed at how much there really is to turbocharging a car.
